Plant’s Soil Condition


Plant Soil Conditions Analysis –7 April 2025

The soil and environmental measurements collected from various plant species on March 7, 2025 reveal important patterns in growing conditions. Temperature remained stable between 27-31°C across all samples, with Padi Bawah recording the highest temperature (31°C) and Kunyit the coolest (27°C). Humidity levels varied significantly from 73% to 90%, with Padi varieties consistently showing the highest humidity (83-90%) and Sawi Mati the lowest (73%). The most notable variation occurred in pH levels, which ranged dramatically from 3.9 to 8.4. Healthy Sawi plants maintained stable pH levels between 6.1-6.4, while Padi plants showed concerning acidity (3.9-4.2) with one alkaline outlier at 6.1. Kangkung displayed both extremely acidic (4.0) and alkaline (7.0) conditions, suggesting possible soil inconsistencies. The data shows clear correlations between plant health and soil conditions – dead plants (Sawi Mati and Padi Mati) exhibited more pH variability than their healthy counterparts, and Leca-grown plants demonstrated more stable pH levels (5.5-6.5). Of particular note is the Padi Bawah sample with an unusually high pH of 8.4, and Kangkung Dr Zakirah which grew under distinct conditions (27°C, 89% humidity, pH 5.5). Brazilian Spinach in Leca showed ideal growing parameters at 29°C, 90% humidity and pH 6.5. These findings suggest the need for further investigation into optimal pH ranges for different species, with special attention required for the acid-sensitive Padi varieties and the inconsistent Kangkung conditions. The stable performance of Leca-grown plants may indicate benefits from this growing medium that warrant additional study.
